Super Survival

In literacy we have been reading Going Solo by Roald Dahl. It tells his story from where Boy left off.

He went to Africa to work for The Shell Company and he has many adventures there. Some of these are really funny.
He then joined the RAF to fly in WW2.

We have recreated a part of the story where his plane crashes in the desert.
He manages to survive although he is blinded by the crash and badly injured. He does get his sight back eventually.

Going Solo is a great novel that I would recommend you read.

Have you read this book before tell me if you have please in the comments

I have never read it before, but after your recommendation, I might have to give it a go! I hope you're having a great week. Caitlin :)

  3. Kia ora Adam,

What a great animation you have created. I loved watching the plane move around, the use of the fuel going empty and then Roald Dahl coming up. The plane blowing up was pretty exciting.

I can tell it has taken a long time to create that. Did you use any shortcuts to make it happen faster?

I haven't read the book, but your blog encourages me to want to read it. It sounds like Roald Dahl had a very interesting life.

    Thanks for sharing,
